Report

The Wissenschaftliche Kongress der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Ernährung e. V. (DGE) / Congress of the German Society for Nutrition, is one of the leading conferences in the field of nutrition and offers a broad insight and overview of important topics and scientific challenges. The 61st DGE Congress 2024 took place in Kassel, Germany. It featured over 190 oral and poster presentations on current research findings, symposia organised by the DGE’s Speciality and Working Groups, and workshops from the nutritional and food sciences and related disciplines. The Congress focused on current topics such as: "Where do we stand on the topic of meat?", "Sustainable nutrition and food systems - measuring, understanding, shaping" and the "Nutri-Score". I had the opportunity to present our latest research results on the influence of a single dose of an iso-alpha-acid extract on the LPS-mediated activation of blood immune cells in healthy individuals. Besides attending very interesting scientific sessions, there was the opportunity to meet and interact with the speakers, which made this experience really interesting.

I would like to thank my supervisor, Prof. Ina Bergheim, for the great opportunity to attend the DGE Congress, share our latest findings and broaden my perspective in our research field. Furthermore, I also would like to thank the VDS PhaNuSpo for this travel grant.
